BIOGRAPHY

Tamara Kirakosova is a Georgian mezzo-soprano based in Italy. She completed her Master’s Degree in Opera Performance in 2024 at the Conservatory of Music “G. B. Pergolesi” in Fermo, graduating with highest honors (110 cum laude) under Maestro Andrea Concetti. She also completed the Biennio Accademico (2022) and Biennio Accademico Superiore (2024) at the Accademia d’Arte Lirica di Osimo, after studying at the Tbilisi State Conservatory under Guliko Kariauli.

Tamara made her stage debut in Georgia as the Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Conservatory Grand Hall, conducted by Gogi Chichinadze. She also performed at the Djansug Lakhudze Tbilisi Center of Music under David Mukeria and presented Wagner’s Wesendonck Lieder with pianist Eka Gogolidze. During this period, she was awarded Second Prize at the Nodar Andguladze International Competition in Tbilisi.

After moving to Italy, she continued her artistic development at the Accademia d’Arte Lirica di Osimo, where she studied a diverse mezzo-soprano repertoire, including Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Tisbe (La Cenerentola), and selections from Bizet’s Carmen. She took part in masterclasses with internationally renowned singers such as Ernesto Palacio and William Matteuzzi, honing her operatic, sacred, and chamber music skills.

During her studies, Tamara performed extensively in concerts organized by the Accademia. Highlights include J. Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes with Michele Campanella and Monica Leone, Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana under Michel Brousseau, and performances at the Beniamino Gigli Arena, singing arias from Carmen (Habanera, Seguidilla), Maddalena in the Rigoletto quartet, and Malika in Lakmé under David Crescenzi. She also participated in Italian festivals, including the Festival of Nations, performing 20th-century Italian chamber music by Domenico Alaleona, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Ildebrando Pizzetti, Elena Barbara Giuranna, and Alfredo Casella, and the Festival Belcanto Ritrovato in Pesaro, performing Gaspare Spontini’s Chant de Mignon and N. Vaccaj’s Romeo by Donizetti with pianist Alessandro Benigni.

During her studies, she also made an important debut at the Arena Sferisterio in Carmen Danza, singing the Habanera from Carmen with conductor Miquel Ortega and the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana. She also made early operatic appearances as Cherubino at Teatro Bello in Milan under Christian Frattima and as Tisbe with the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana conducted by Alessandro Benigni.

In parallel, she attended the Boris Christoff Academy in Rome, participating in masterclasses with Orlin Anastassov, Giacomo Prestia, and conductor Paolo Arrivabeni. During this period, she made her solo debut in Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Pleven with the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Alfonso Todisco.

Tamara is active in the sacred and concert repertoire. She has performed as a soloist in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël, and Bach’s The Raising of Lazarus, and has studied other major works, including Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle and Verdi’s Requiem, which are part of her broader concert repertoire.

After completing her studies, Tamara was invited to Sofia, Bulgaria, to make her solo debut in Mozart’s Requiem with the Genesis Orchestra under Yordan Kamdzhalov. She then sang the role of Maria in the oratorio The Raising of Lazarus in Linz, Austria, conducted by Sigurd Hennemann. In Italy, she debuted as a soloist in Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Te Deum at the Chiesa San Giorgio Martire with conductor Mario Cifferi and the Orchestra da Camera G.B. Pergolesi di Fermo.

In 2026, she is scheduled to return to Sofia to perform Mozart’s Requiem at Bulgaria Hall under the direction of Yordan Kamdzhalov.
